Workshops: Building a Peltier cooler based cloud chamber

Participants will learn the inner workings of a cloud chamber (Wilson chamber) used to observe ionising particles. They will understand the physics principles allowing the chamber to function and also get to assemble a working system which will be used to look at ionising rays from a thorium sample.
