Meeting with Latvian ambassador at Klaipeda University: focus on cooperation development and academic relations

On February 19, Klaipeda University (KU) Rector Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas met with Solveiga Silkalna, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Lithuania. The meeting was also attended by KU Senate Chair Prof. Vaidutis Laurėnas and the rector's team.

During the conversation, they discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the fields of science, studies, and international projects, as well as strengthening academic and cultural ties between Lithuanian and Latvian institutions. The meeting emphasized that KU already maintains close ties with Latvian academic institutions – there are active exchanges of lecturers, and joint initiatives and projects are being implemented, which are to be expanded consistently.

Rector Prof. Dr. Artūras Razbadauskas emphasized: "Closer cooperation with the Latvian academic and diplomatic community is an important part of the university's internationalization strategy, contributing to the achievement of common goals in science, innovation, and education." The ambassador pointed out that university partnerships create not only academic value, especially today, in a broader geopolitical context, the unity of the Baltic countries is particularly important, strengthening the region's resilience and common direction for the future.
