Migration information

To obtain a national multiple-entry visa

You have to submit the following documents:

1. An application for issuing a national visa (application forms are here);

2. A valid travel document;

3. 1 colour photograph (35×45 mm);

4. A mediation document of the higher education institution

5. A document regarding a sufficient amount of subsistence and return funds;

6. A document confirming health insurance that is valid during the stay in Lithuania (the insurance amount comprises EUR 30 000).


You have to pay a fee of EUR 120.

If in cases provided for by the laws you are exempt from the state fee, you have to submit documents that confirm the circumstances causing your exemption from the fee.

A decision on issuing a national visa is made within 15 days.

To obtain a temporary residence permit

You have to submit the following documents:

1. An application is available at MIGRIS;

2. A valid travel document;

3. A temporary residence permit (if you wish to replace it);

4. 1 photograph (40×60 mm);

5. A document from the educational institution regarding your acceptance, a mediation document

6. A document regarding a sufficient amount of subsistence funds

7. A residence document;

8. A certificate regarding (the absence of) a criminal record;

9. A document regarding health insurance (the insurance amount comprises EUR 10000);

10. A list of trips and residence in foreign states;

11. A document confirming the legal stay, if you submit the application while staying in Lithuania.


You have to pay the state fees (except cases when the person is released from the obligation of paying the fee):

  • For the consideration of the application for issuing / replacing the temporary residence permit:
    • On a general basis – EUR 120;
    • On an urgent basis – EUR 240.

Decisions on residence permits are made in:

  • Decision to issue:
    • On a general basis – within 3 months;
    • On an urgent basis – within 45 calendar days;
  • Decision to replace:
    • On a general basis – within 2 months;
    • On an urgent basis – within 1 month.
