KU researchers will contribute to the development of e-health solutions for the treatment of cancer

A new collaboration between eight partners from five South Baltic countries has received funding from EU Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021-27 for the innovation project: Advanced Modeling of Baltic Cancer e-caRe (AMBeR). For the first time, leading medical research institutions and clinical centers from the entire South Baltic area will carry out a joint innovation project to develop a model of implementing e-health solutions in cancer care.

This includes pilot testing of digital tools for home monitoring and rehabilitation with the scope of reducing the number of hospital visits and improve the quality of life for cancer patients. Especially rural regions in the participating countries could benefit from these new possibilities, which will be tested in collaboration between the partners.

The Dept. of Oncology at Zealand University Hospital will lead this collaboration.

On Sept. 14th the medical university of Greifswald will host the opening conference of the AMBeR project. Here the project partners will present the activities of the project and talks by invited guest speakers. The conference is free of charge and open to the public. For more information contact Keld Hundewadt on email kehun@regionsjaelland.dk before Sept. 1st.
