End User Agreement
Agreement with Klaipėda University Science Management System User
Klaipėda University Research Management System (hereinafter referred to as KU CRIS) is a database for collecting, managing, storing, and disseminating research papers and other information on research activities created by the university community. The database contains information on publications produced by researchers (PDB), profiles of researchers, various ongoing projects, departments, books and journals published by the University, and theses and dissertations (ETD). The system allows users to register their own publications, including co-authored publications, research data, ongoing projects, manage their profiles, use the reports section, and archive the electronic documentation of publications and theses.
This agreement is for all users of the system. It constitutes an acknowledgement of acceptance of the terms and conditions set out herein and is legally binding on the user, whether he/she is registered or uses the system without registration.
General Provisions
The data contained in the KU CRIS are processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the General Data Protection Regulation), the Law on the Legal Protection of Personal Data of the Republic of Lithuania, and any other legal acts regulating the protection of data. The provision of data shall also be carried out only in accordance with the requirements of the above-mentioned legislation.
The data contained in the KU CRIS are public. However, it may only be used publicly to the extent that such use does not infringe the requirements of the legislation, including but not limited to the Law on Copyright and Related Rights of the Republic of Lithuania.
The information contained in KU CRIS is accessible to both Lithuanian residents and persons from other countries. The use would include searching, viewing, and actual use of the information in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
The use of copyright works, access to which is restricted by the Law on Copyright and Related Rights of the Republic of Lithuania, is only allowed in accordance with the licensing agreements concluded by the University or other agreements in force at the University with the holders of copyright and related rights.
If the administrator (manager) or user of the KU CRIS finds that the data provided is incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate, then he/she may, upon verbal or written request, contact the manager/user, who shall immediately verify the data and correct the incorrect or inaccurate data, supplement the incomplete data, or suspend the display/access and processing of such data.
The KU CRIS Manager shall ensure that the system is available at least 90% of the time during working hours on working days.
