Abstract
Suitability of pyrolysis to be used as a solution to utilise HDPE packaging waste from plant protection products is analysed in the article. Unwashed and washed packaging was used as a raw material for pyrolysis. Experiment covered laboratory scale pyrolysis and the subsequent extraction of light fractions, gasoline and diesel, from the resulting pyrolytic oils. Density, viscosity and sulphur content were determined for those two fractions. The results demonstrated that HDPE plastic from plant protection products used packaging yielded a high percentage (88.55% for unwashed, and 90.02% for washed packaging) of pyrolytic oils. There was nearly no difference in density and viscosity, but sulphur content was lower in the gasoline and diesel from the washed packaging.
