Abstract
The paper presents the variability of long term sea level variability near the Lithuanian sea coast. Longterm (1898-2004) change of sea level in Klaipeda Strait indicates general water rise in the Baltic Sea. The results analysis showed an increase of the sea levels taking place on all time scales at the coastal areas of Lithuania. The regime of long-term sea level is affected by the global climate changes. The great concern should cause the increase in sea level observed in the 20(th) century, which could be directly related to problems of coast erosion, land overflow.
