Abstract
In total, 343 completed questionnaires were collected during the study. According to the survey, the majority of population (48%) indicated that they did not agree with the statement that there is an effective emergency and rescue system management model in Lithuania. In the opinion of many respondents, the emergency and rescue system management model is found not to be effective. The analysis shows a low level of population’s readiness and a lack of initiative in the field of civil protection (frequent changes in civil protection legislation, however, lack of updates to the ESDP). The information provided by authorities should not only provide the required amount thereof, but should ensure as well that the correct information reaches the population.
