Abstract
The problem of the thesis is do green marketing tools encourage consumers to change their
attitude towards the use of single-use plastic products, reducing the use of such products in the daily
life of consumers? The purpose of the research is to investigate the impact of green marketing on
consumer attitudes regarding the consumption of single-use plastic products. In order to achieve the
goal, the following objectives are set: 1) systematize the concept of green marketing, distinguishing
the most important aspects; 2) reveal the problems of using single-use plastic products and highlight
the main solutions; 3) to determine which measures of the 4P element of green marketing have the
highest influence on consumer attitudes in the context of daily use of single-use plastic products.
In the theoretical part of the work, it is pointed out that one of the goals of green marketing
is to create a more harmonious and safe environment for nature, and the problem of achieving this
goal is still the high consumption of single-use plastic products. Consumer behavior is most
influenced by the 4P elements of green marketing – product and advertising. The most commonly
used single-use plastic products are plastic bags. In the empirical part of the work, after conducting
a quantitative study, it was found that the 4P elements of green marketing – product and
place/distribution – have a significant influence on consumer attitudes in the context of single-use
plastic products. Consumer knowledge about environmental protection did not have a significant
impact on reducing the use of single-use plastic products or choosing alternatives. The highest
influence of green marketing was observed among respondents of generation Z people, but a
significant influence was also observed among respondents of generation X people.
