Abstract
The definition of a profession and the concept of inclusive education oblige the teacher to educate all students in general education schools. It also obliges teachers to respond to their various needs, including the needs of children with behavioral and emotional disorders. The purpose of this work is to reveal and better understand the experience of working with children who have behavioral and emotional disorders from the perspective of teachers. The following seven main topics were identified while analysing the data: tiring emotions and stressful thoughts in relationships with students; fault, shame and the emerging distrust of selfconfidence in the lesson; efforts and the need to prove to parents of other students „that I am working, we are learning, we will secceed“; experience working with children with behavioral and emotional disorders - hardens and nurtures; the respect of children with behavioral and emotional disorders; proven methods and tools in working with children with behavioral and emotional disorders; the lack of assistance. Conclusions describe the definition of educators ’experience (emotional states, feelings, relationship with oneself and the whole community: parents, children, colleagues and administration) and its significance for the wider educational context. The research is important because the stories of the research participants have emerged new topics that have not been studied before or have been poorly studied. These results can be useful for school administration, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals working in the education system. The study calls for consideration to be given not only to help children with behavioral and emotional disorders or parents raising them, but also to the educators themselves, who educate these children on a daily basis.
