Klaipėda : Klaipėdos universiteto leidykla, 2020, [t.] 41., p. 191-200By digitising and publicising their exhibits, European archives, libraries and museums are opening up an increasing number of historical sources to a wider audience. This publication deals with a late 16th-century manuscript rutter (a nautical book of sailing directions), created by an unknown Dutch cartographer, and bearing the French title Recveil et povrtraict d’avlcvnes villes maritimes et plvs memorables ports et levrs advenves et marcques servantes a la navigation en la mer oceane. The manuscript is held by the National Library of Spain (Biblioteca Nacional de España) and was thoroughly described by Günter Schilder in 1991. This presentation focuses on two charts out of 24 charts depicting coastlines from La Rochelle to Tallinn in the manuscript that depict the waterways along the shores of the Baltic Sea, the coasts of the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia and the Duchy of Prussia, in a stretch between Memel (Klaipėda) and Danzig (Gdańsk). The drawings show coastlines seen from the sea, as if from a bird’s-eye view, and provide an opportunity to reflect on a view of this stretch of Baltic coast that sailors saw at the time. According to collected data on the depth of the water in the Curonian Lagoon, the author concludes that the drawings present reliable information, probably because they were created based on information provided by sailors. However, the precision of the information is apparently not absolute, as the site 7 Berge (Seven hills), shown between Liepāja and Klaipėda by later sources, was localised here between Ventspils and Liepāja. The charts are also interesting in that they contain a drawing of the town and castle of Memel (Klaipėda) and its surroundings, which was so far not known in the historiography of Klaipėda. It is safe to assume that the 1586 drawings are some of the earliest cartographic sources representing Klaipėda and its surroundings.1 - research article

Kai 1934 m. vasario 9 d. šiame krašte prasidėjo vietos pronacistinių partijų lyderių ir narių areštai, kilo didelis Vokietijos valdžios nepasitenkinimas. Apie įkaitusią politinę atmosferą puikiai byloja Vokietijos generalinio konsulo Klaipėdoje 1934 m. balandžio 25 d. pranešimas Vokietijos užsienio reikalų ministerijai, kurio tekstas publikuojamas šiame straipsnyje.Publication Pasitraukimas iš Klaipėdosresearch articleActa historica universitatis Klaipedensis: Klaipėdos krašto aneksija 1939 m.: politiniai, ideologiniai ir kariniai aspektai = The 1939 annexation of Klaipėda region: political, ideological, social and military issues. ;Piasecka, Beata ;Stankevičiūtė, IdaTautosakos darbai. Vilnius : Lietuvių literatūros ir tautosakos institutas, 2007, t. 33., p. 198-247Here, the folk narratives collected in 2002–2006 on the initiative of the Neris regional park are published further (the first publication see in Tautosakos darbai / Folklore Studies, vol. 22 (29), Vilnius, 2005, p. 219–261). These publications are directly interconnected, therefore numbering of the folklore texts is continued further and the same principle of grouping the texts according to the geographic localities and objects is retained. All this folklore was lovingly collected and arranged by Ida Stankevičiūtė, who sadly passed away the previous summer, before we finished editing this portion of local legends for publication. In total, 102 folk narratives are published here, grouped according to the geographic localities and arranged alphabetically: of them, 77 are in Polish and 25 in Lithuanian. They relate of 30 places scattered across the region between Vilnius and Kernavė (see map) and of certain objects situated there, e.g. mounds, woods, stones, streams, etc. All these narratives, the local and mythological legends widen our knowledge of the folk narrative genres of the Vilnius region and their specifics, but most importantly, they allow us to at least partly fill in those gaps in folklore recording, which had resulted in the course of the 20th century because of the peculiarities of the political and cultural history of this region.3 - research article
;Plasecka, Beata ;Stankevičiūtė, IdaTautosakos darbai. Vilnius : Lietuvių literatūros ir tautosakos institutas, 2005, t. 22 (29)., p. 219-261The article deals with the local legends of the Vilnius region. The material consists of 90 local legends and folk stories altogether recorded in Polish (78 items) and Lithuanian (12 items) and related to the 53 localities in Vilnius and its region, primarily to the mountains, boulders, streams and trees. Of these as many as 25 texts describe the waterholes, shals and separate stones lying in Neris (Vilija) river. Generally, the published texts are valuable in terms of language, folklore, ethnology and history studies. The enable us filling up at least some of the vacancies in our comparatively scant knowledge of the Vilnius region's history and culture.1
