I started my research at the end of the 1990s in the field of real-time applications’ traffic modeling, at this time fundamentals of Voice over IP were forming and tuning. My deep gratitude belongs to CESNET enabling my research in the IP telephony domain. I have devoted many efforts to the improvement of non-intrusive speech quality evaluation methods, Quality of Service (QoS), Quality of Experience (QoE), and security of real-time applications in networks. I focused my intent on wireless communication, the Internet of things, energy harvesting, network security and lately also on big data analytics in networks, everything is related to the research projects in which I participate/participated. Generally, my professional interest focuses on communication technologies and related issues. I am a founder of the LIPTEL research group and a leader of the expert group Telecommunications and Multimedia in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Ostrava and a research group in the Big Data Analysis Lab.

Miroslav VOZNAK (IEEE Senior Member) received his Ph.D. in telecommunications from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, in 2002, and achieved habilitation in 2009. He was appointed Full Professor in Electronics and Communications Technologies in 2017. His research interests generally focus on information and communication technologies, especially on the quality of service and experience, network security, wireless networks, and big data analytics. He has authored and co-authored over one hundred articles indexed in SCI/SCIE journals. According to the Stanford University ranking released in 2020 and also in 2021, he is one of the World’s Top 2% of scientists in Networking & Telecommunications. In 2020 I started working at Klaipeda University (KU) as a part-time professor and as a senior researcher at the Marine Research Institute of KU.
