Abstract
This paper describes the design and implementation of an IoT sensor infrastructure to detect and prevent biological auto-ignition in closed environments - the shipping containers. The purpose of these IoT systems is to detect the safety and security threats in due time. The system monitors the values of humidity and temperature of agricultural material inside a closed environment. We present a complete eco-system of IoT infrastructure from the end probe to the web application. The implemented algorithms monitor and warn the responsible persons against the risky conditions of the stored agricultural product. The aim is to reduce the fire’s probability and provide a more precise overview of stored agricultural crops’ quality to reduce overall risks for the transport chain.
