The latter decade there were pursued a lot of researches on purpose to indentify reasons of seafarers tiredness, by studying tiredness and its connections with work hours, sleep quality, health and stress, reduced safety, which were rated subjectively. Purpose of this article is to estimate impact of alterations of main work conditions characteristics to frequency of psycho-emotional stress of seafarers, to estimate spread of tiredness and factors connected with tiredness. There was performed qualitative research of peculiarities of Lithuanian seafarers’ lifestyle in October – December, 2007. This research was made using inquiry method. There were inquired 932 of Lithuanian seafarers - men, 20-69 years old, which were examined in Klaipeda Seamen’s hospital Maritime medicine centre. More than three quarters (76,3 %) of seafarers indicated that they felt symptoms of tiredness at sea. Once in a week tiredness felt 23 % of leading pack seafarers, 15 % seafarers of other incumbencies. There were settled prognostic factors of seafarers’ tiredness – younger age, short trips, long work hours, bad quality of sleep, high work requirements, leading incumbencies, smoking, oscillation and noise. Tiredness of seafarers is cumulative. Seafarer who works in particular ship, in particular conditions with shifting or concurrent combinations of risk factors may feel increasingly growing tiredness.
