Roma Šimulionienė is currently an associate professor in Psychology Department and senior researcher at Center for Social Change Studies at Klaipėda University. In 2016 -2020 she served as Department Chair. Roma graduated from Vinius University in 1989, and earned her PhD in social sciences (psychology) from Kaunas Vytautas Magnus and Klaipėda universities in 2002.
Her research interests span mental health of children and adults, cross-cultural aspects of psychological functioning, quantitative and qualitative research methods. She has been collaborating with an international team of researchers lead by T.M.Achenbach (University of Vermont, USA) on adapting and norming ASEBA (Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment) instruments used to assess adaptive functioning, behavioural, emotional and social problems, competences and strengths of adults. She has a vast experience in research projects, having acted as Project Manager of Lithuanian national projects, and participated in several European projects. Her recently completed project (funded by Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania, 2020-2022) was aimed at developing the model of mental health friendly school and study on school-related factors impacting student mental health.
