Construction Engineering and Port Buildings (BSc of Engineering Sciences)
Construction Engineering and Port Buildings is one of the areas where specialists have been needed and valued at all times. By choosing these studies you will know the construction technologies, you will be able to perform, organize and implement construction work, and most importantly – you will be able to work as a manager of a special part of the construction projects. The uniqueness of these studies – knowledge of the specificity of port buildings – will provide the knowledge that will enable us to work in fast-growing port industry companies. The world is constantly changing… Will you change it by building smart buildings for future cities?
The structure of curriculum
During the studies, students develop skills in engineering graphics with CAD, engineering geology and hydrogeology, building materials, mechanic of materials, theoretical mechanics, physics, urbanistic and port building design, geotechnical design, structural mechanics of buildings, architecture and structures of buildings, physics in civil engineering, structural analysis and basics of designing, timber constructions and design, integrated design of BIM structures, etc.
Upon completion of the studies, graduates acquire the competencies required for practical engineering activity and are prepared for independent professional work. They can start practical activity in the organisations of structure and building construction and design as well as engineering research organisations and divisions of ministries and city and district municipalities. Graduates can successfully work in private and public construction institutions or construction contract or design companies.
