Pedagogy

Knowledge and their application:

Preschool education pedagogy and Primary education pedagogy specialization

  1. Students will get the knowledge about education of pre-school, pre-primary school and junior school-age children, and knowledge of base subjects of education science (pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, and didactics) and will be able to apply them in the educational process.
  2. Students will know the peculiarities of development (physical, cognitive, social and personality) and education of pre-school, pre-primary school and junior school-age children) and will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in professional activity.
  3. Students will know the regulative documents of education in pre-school, pre-primary and primary education range, will understand the management of educational processes (curriculum content, aims, planning, organization and leadership, strategies of teaching and evaluation, methods and technologies).

Preschool education pedagogy and Social pedagogy specialization

  1. Students will get the knowledge about education of pre-school, pre-primary school, junior school-age children and adolescents, and knowledge of base subjects of education science (pedagogy, social pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, and didactics) and will be able to apply them in the educational process.
  2. Students will know the peculiarities development (physical, cognitive, social and personality), education, and socialization of pre-school, pre-primary school, junior school-age children, and adolescents and will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in professional activity.
  3. Students will know the range of pre-school, pre-primary school education and regulative documents of social pedagogical assistance, will understand the management of educational processes (curriculum content, aims, planning, organization and leadership, strategies of teaching and evaluation, methods and technologies) and will know the management of children‘s and adolescents’ socialization (rendering of social pedagogical assistance, children rights protection, organization of preventive activity).

Abilities to execute researches:

  1. Students will be able to apply education science based knowledge, collect and analyze research data, identify the problem of applied research, evaluate and interpret the problematic situation, formulate aims, tasks, choose and apply research strategies and methods.
  2. Students will be able to organize a research of a professional activity: use various sources of information, collect theoretical and empirical material, analyze, interpret and summarize it.
  3. Students will be able to analyze, summarize and interpret data of research results, formulate conclusions and recommendations, present a report of research.

Special skills:

Preschool education pedagogy and Primary education pedagogy specialization

  1. Students will be able to recognize, analyze and assess the needs of the child, to promote and integrate him/her into active educational activity, helping to go for advance and considering differences and potentials of the child.
  2. Students will be able to create a safe educational environment for children’s emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual development, critical thinking and creativity, ensuring the rights of the child; will be able to create the curriculum of pre-school, pre-primary and primary education, in cooperation with children and their parents, social partners and applying a variety of tools and technologies.
  3. Students will be able to implement and improve the content of pre-school, pre-primary and primary education: to define goals, tasks, to anticipate and manage resources, to select and apply educational methods, to prepare and present child-oriented educational material, to assess the effectiveness of the goals, methods and strategies of education.
  4. Students will be able to evaluate the achievements and progress of the children, to provide effective assessment and feedback to the learners and their parents, emphasizing the personal progress of the child and foreseeing further educational aims.

Preschool education pedagogy and Social pedagogy specialization

  1.   3.   1. Students will be able to recognize cultural diversity, ethically communicate and cooperate in inter-institutional and / or interdisciplinary group (team), to maintain professional relationships with family, specialists and other people, participating in the processes of society and educational change.
  2. Students will be able to assume responsibility for the quality of their professional activity, to present results of activity in accordance with professional ethics.
  3. Students will be able to manage interactive pedagogical interaction, to develop and support educational environment for child’s security, activity, creativity, and independence development, will be able to base various areas of activity on the recognition of the child rights and socio-cultural integration.

Personal skills:

  1. Students will be able to study independently, to plan their learning process, using various information communication technologies, to think critically and creatively, to reflect, and to project professional perfection.
  2. Students will be able to assume moral responsibility for the impact of their professional activity and their outcomes on the development and well-being of society.
  3. Students will be able to use the correct state language and foreign language (verbal and non-verbal, spoken and written) in a professional environment.

Access to professional activity or further study:

The acquired qualification grants them the right to work as teacher in creches/ kindergartens, pre-school age children groups/classes, educational centers, or other institutions providing education services or in institutions in accordance with chosen pedagogical specialization (Primary Education Pedagogy or Social Pedagogy), in accordance with the qualification requirements set by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania.
