Media Lab is a subdivision of Klaipeda University Faculty of Social Sciences Department of Political and Communication Sciences. The main function of the Media Lab is to help journalism students gain more practice. The Media Lab is equipped with the latest computer, video and sound hardware and software which guarantee smooth work with high-definition videos.

The Media Lab contributes to modern practical training of journalism students, guarantees successful practical education in journalism studies and development of skills in television and other media usage.

At the Media Lab students have an opportunity to apply their theory by making reportages practically. Each student is taught individually and has an opportunity to analyze the final work and gain more practical experience.

The Media Lab was founded in 2012. Since 2015, the Media Lab took over the equipment of Klaipėda University television, which activities had been canceled. The currently owned equipment meets all the practical training requirements for journalism students. There are three areas to work on video montage, one of them has installed studio equipment for sound recording. All video cameras have the neccessary accessories, including lighting, wired and wireless microphones, tripods etc.
The Media Lab offers an opportunity to simulate a TV studio by using several cameras, wireless microphones and studio lighting.
The Media Lab is also used as a site for student practicum. The Media Lab records the most significant events at Klaipėda University.
