- General course description
The course has been designed for international degree students, willing to pursue a degree in English under a Bachelor study programme at Klaipeda University.
The aim of the course – to assist international students and help them prepare for degree studies at Klaipeda University, implemented in English as well as facilitate their successful cultural and social integration in Lithuania.
When applying for the Foundation Course, ALL applicants MUST apply for a Bachelor/ Master study programme of their interest simultaneously and comply with all entry requirements for the chosen study programme. The Foundation Course cannot be chosen as a course on its own, without further degree studies.
Duration of the course: one semester (30 ECTS) or two semesters (60 ECTS).
Certificate: upon successful completion of the course international students will be awarded a completion certificate and granted the right to apply for degree studies at Klaipeda University, implemented in English.
- Course structure
The course consists of compulsory modules in the study field of humanities as well as optional modules in the same or other study fields.
Compulsory modules in the study field of humanities
2.1. English language
International students will be taught English language from A1 to B2 level (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). They will acquire listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in English.
2.2. Lithuanian language
International students will be taught Lithuanian language from A1 to A2 level (in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). They will not only be able to communicate, ask and answer simple questions about themselves and others but also will be able to maintain a simple written or oral conversation in Lithuanian on various public and professional topics.
Optional modules
International students would be able to choose one/several optional modules from the same study field according to which they are going to study for their degree at Klaipeda University.

One semester – 1432,50 Euros;
Two semesters – 2865 Euros.
