Like every year, the Summer Academy of the Lithuanian Language and Culture will take place at Klaipėda University (KU) in July-August. This is a month-long language and culture course for non-native speakers at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. This year, almost 70 students from 17 countries will participate.
Every day, the learners will intensively study the Lithuanian language and participate in a cultural programme, providing numerous opportunities to practice Lithuanian.
The Summer Academy, organized for the 18th time, has become famous all over the world. This year’s summer course participants will come from such distant lands as Australia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan. Incidentally, the list of countries also includes Lithuania. Along with the foreigners who come to attend the courses, some Lithuanian citizens will be learning. The largest number of students is coming from Russia and Ukraine
This year, a total of 8 Lithuanian teachers will teach in five different level groups. Other staff members will work as administrators, mentors, lecturers on Lithuanian culture, and event hosts.
