This international scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Baltic States is intended to call for an interdisciplinary scientific discussion on the most important marks of cultural identity such as language, ethnic and national awareness, historical and cultural heritage, the interaction, functions and values of these components, new threats and tasks within the context of globalisation. The underlying idea of the conference is preservation, that is, you are invited to present the results of your research and to discuss which objects and/or elements of linguistic and cultural heritage should be preserved and why, what is the current level of their investigation, which directions of research are most productive, how research is applied in practice and what is the outcome. The spectrum of objects investigated encompasses historic, archaeological, cultural objects, old scripts and bibliographic monuments, languages and dialects under threat, objects included in UNESCO list, mythological and region-specific ethnographic heritage, etc.
Conference languages: Lithuanian, Latvian, German, English, Russian.
Filled in Conference Participants’ forms and titles of the conference papers accompanied by the abstracts (in Lithuanian, Latvian, German, English or Russian) shall be submitted by the 10th of May.
Scientific articles based on conference papers and positively evaluated by reviewers are going to be published in Klaipėda University research periodical Res humanitariae, ISSN 1822-7708 Index Copernicus.
