Klaipėda University received a delegation from the University of Liepaja. Prof. dr. Dace Markus, the Rector of the University, said that the main purpose of the visit was discussion of opportunities for cooperation.
“I believe the University of Liepaja is ready for more intensive cooperation with Klaipėda University. So far, we have had some joint research projects and student exchanges, however, not as frequently as we would have liked. Our meeting is a perfect occasion to discuss further plans,” prof. Markus said.
Prof. dr. Artūras Razbadauskas, the Rector of KU, presented the history and structure of the University to his guests and introduced them to the establishment of the STEAM Centre. Dr. Rima Mickevičienė, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Technology and Natural Sciences, overviewed the opportunities of the development of engineering studies at the University and spoke about the study programmes of the Faculty and the research conducted in it.
Dr. Erika Župerkienė, Vice-Dean for International Relations and Development, stated she saw good prospects for more frequent cooperation with the University of Liepaja.
