About Leisure Sports study program

The Leisure Sports study programme is both relevant and unique: the study subjects are oriented towards the development of specific physical activities in the coastal area, utilizing the resources of the beach and the Baltic Sea. The study programme includes a Pedagogical Studies module of 60 study credits for obtaining a teacher's qualification. Students can choose a Basketball or Football specialization, both of which are prepared and implemented with Lithuanian and foreign social partners. This ensures the implementation of the latest educational technologies in the study process.

Graduates will be able to work as sports professionals in the state, private, and public sports organizations as: teachers of their profession; teachers of non-formal education in children's summer camps; personal trainers for children and adults; creators of private businesses in the field of sports and leisure for children and adults; or to pursue a career using professional and general competencies.

BASKETBALL specialization

Basketball is a fast-growing industry that needs specialist professionals, and choosing KU’s Leisure Sports study programme with a Basketball specialization will give you the skills, experience, and contacts to help gain employment in the Basketball industry, whether as a coach, performance analyst, or as a member of the sports science support staff. The basketball specialization has been developed and will be implemented in cooperation with the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. This will ensure that the latest educational technologies are introduced in the study process and will correspond to the needs of students and the market.

FOOTBALL specialization

If you are passionate about football, then choosing KU’s Leisure Sports study programme with a Football specialization can provide you with the skills you need to thrive in various roles across the football industry. In this programme, we share the methodological proposal used and developed within FC Barcelona. This specialization is based on the theoretical models that have revolutionized the way of understanding the dynamics of team sports and the paradigm of contemporary sports practice.
