Straipsnyje nustatoma Lietuvos kalvarijų Kryžiaus kelių vieta Europoje. Lietuvos kalvarijų Kryžiaus keliai - katalikiškojo pamaldumo šiaurės rytų riba Europoje, skirianti nuo protestantizmo, stačiatikybės, islamo, vėliau - ir ateizmo.
The author of the article analyses the customs of the Lithuanian ways of the cross of the Calvaries and their reflections in the analogues of other nations. The author opens the Lithuanian ways of the cross of the Calvaries and the geneses of their customs on the basis of published historical, ethnological, ethnomusicological and expeditionary materials, it is compared with the analogous events of other nations, their similarities and differences, shows their originality and reveals the interactions of liturgical and ethnological customs. The research material covers not only the ways of the Lithuanian of the cross of the Calvaries and the history of their customs, but also it reveal the reasons and motives of their origins. By comparison of the Lithuanian ways of the cross of the Calvaries (Mosėdis, Žemaičių Kalvarija, Beržoras, Tytuvėnai, Vilnius, Vepriai) the image of the ritual customs and data of the religion technology, the author substantiates the hypothesis that these Calvaries are the spiritual strongholds of the former Northern East of Europe their ritual culture is linked with the local and Europe culture. The Lithuanian ways of the cross of Calvaries, their ritual customs were the bound of the Catholic religion of the Northern Europe against the orthodoxy, Protestantism, Islam, later - atheism.
