Abstract
This article is aimed to show the origins of S.Šalkauskis integral education theory. The essence of integral education theory is explained: this theory involves interaction of a human being with all life spheres, including transcendental one, as well as the expression and perfection of all human powers; it requires the harmony of actions of all education participants as well as qualified competences; the principal of competenceness has to be applied in the preparation of a human being to act in all spheres of life.
