Abstract
In Oversize cargo deliveries, transportation from Sea ports to the end users encounter certain water barriers en route like rivers, lakes etc, where it is impossible to make use of existing bridges and viaducts. Pontoon systems can thus offer a viable assistance in passage of rivers and other water barriers. The Article presents a methodology for pontoon system calculation and practical solutions to water barrier crossing by extra heavy transport.
