In 2006 a field evaluation (7 test pits with a total area of 10 m2) was conducted at the Turlojiškės find spot (Širvintos Dist.). Found: hand built pottery sherds with smooth and rough surfaces from a 2nd–3rd century settlement (dated on the basis of a Antoninus Pius bronze dupondius minted in 153–154; in a private collection) (Fig. 3); a narrow-bladed axe and ornament fragment from destroyed barrows from the 2nd half of the 1st millennium (Fig. 2:1); a 15th century earring (Fig. 2:4), which together with the late 14th–15th century cast ring brooch previously found here (in a private collection) (Fig. 1) could have come from destroyed burials from this period. The 17th–19th century thrown pottery, a roof tile fragment, nails, and coins (in private collections) should be connected with a homestead (?) located here in the 17th–18th century.
