The article analyses linguistic and didactic problems of primary school children's common language pronunciation. In order to ascertain the situation about pronunciation, a research was carried out related spoken language in the largest cities of Lithuania and different dialects spoken by pupils in various regions. The results indicate that primary school children's pronunciation is not as good as it should be and pupils' mistakes depend on mistakes made by their teacher. It was discovered that time devoted to training pronunciation is insufficient not only during the native language lessons but even at primary schools in general. Considering the junior period of studies as very valuable and unique when the basis for making personality is laid, we must pay standard special attention to the training of children's spoken language.
