The article deals with the practice of verbal communication skills in primary schools. The purpose of communication competence exercises is not only to create possibility to speak with various people, tell them your impressions, express and explain your opinion on various subjects but also to learn to listen and to understand what other people say and what information they are trying to give you, to be able to ask guest ions when you don't understand something. In order to analyse possibilities of verbal communication training in cities schools, private schools and schools in villages the following conclusions were made: more attention should be given to training of verbal communication skills in primary schools; private schools provide more opportunities to practise communication skills then ordinary secondary schools; there are more chances to practice communication skill in schools in villages, because there are more after-class activities for pupils.
