The paper analyzes the issue of aid to 14 to 16-year-old adolescents who committed criminal acts and received punishments alternative to imprisonment. In the humanization of the process of aid to such adolescents, correctional officers play the most significant role. The article presents research into the correctional officers’ evaluative view of the aid to the said adolescents. The officers’ view is analyzed in two main areas: the view of their own activity and the view of the activities carried out by other institutions that provide aid to adolescents. The paper assesses the present state of the aid to the 14 to 16- year-old adeolescents provided by Lithuanian correctional inspectorates and highlights the need and effectiveness of that kind of aid.
