The paper deals with the usage of Coloured Petri Nets model specialized for computer simulation of operational control system dynamics applied for the short railway distances. Availability of the model was tested by using macro nets presentation of train stations, tracks which were disintegrated into groups of particular sections. The time parameters are especilly important in the process of modelling as this approach enables to design, analyse adn to test the situation in a certain railway stretch. The paper presents the results of analysis of traffic intensity and specifies the main parameters of discrete section of the track. In turn, the study also analyses a problem caused by the train table, while the results of modelling allow analysing a throughput of considered railway stretch and enable improving the efficiency and performance of operational control system aimed at ensuring of traffic safety.
