The fruits and vegetables market becomes oligopsonic and make manufacturers dependent on a policy of networks. Concentration of demand at existence of a considerable quantity of fruits and vegetables producers competing among themselves generates asymmetry of the market. A way to decrease in a misbalance of market forces is the increase market force of producers through horizontal integration. One of the major distinctions of Lithuanian horticulture in comparison with Western Europe countries is the lack of integration of producers, not allowing to concentrate the supply of production and to use intended EU financial support for the sector development. Authors prepare strategy of development of fruits and vegetables sector of Lithuania. The strategic overall aim is the strengthening of producer cooperation, rationalisation of their communication with other participants of sector, creation of producer organisations.
