Turlojiškių pilkapynas

In 2006 part of Turlojiškės barrow cemetery (Širvintos Dist.) to the S of the gas main was surveyed and investigated (Fig. 1). The site of destroyed barrow 2 (a total area of 95.3 m2) was investigated at a construction site 1 (Fig. 2). A cremation burial, which dates to the 2nd half of the 1st millennium, was found. It was created by strewing the remains and grave goods on the base of the mound. Finds from two disturbed 10th–11th century cremation burials were found on the surface of barrow 3 while finds (including a type Petersen E spearhead with a bent blade) (Fig. 3). From disturbed 10th–11th century burials were found at the location of barrow 4, which is situated at construction site 2.
