The abstract deals with the peculiarities of the macrophytes distribution in the Curonian Lagoon. Under conditions of high water level the most mesophyte species disappeared from affluent shore growth places. The abundance of the underwater communities decreased and less resistant limneids species disappeared. The water level fluctuation had very small impact to the growth and development of helophyte communities.
