The purpose of this paper consists of analysing the features of agriculture in 21 st century, explaining the analysis of the patent information and applying the results of the analysis for the management of planning in the organizatuion. Design/methodology/approach - the features of innovation and agriculture are researched. The application of biotechnology and a legal basis for intellectual property is considered. The paper finds that the biotechnologization of agriculture is emerging as one of the primary manifestations of the globalised knowledge-based economy; the biotechnologization of agriculture represents the ongoing attempts to transform agriculture through the commercial deployment of biotechnological innovations.
