Abstract (en)
This article tries to explain consecutively the development of teachers' training in Klaipeda in 1902-1975, interpreting this period of time as the prehistory of the Pedagogical faculty of Klaipeda University. Starting with the Teachers' Seminary and later with the Teachers Institute as well as the Higer Pedagogical School, the experience of teachers' training was extended to the foundation of a separate faculty which became a part of Klaipeda University ten years ago.
