Abstract
The authors investigated the influences of metabolic differences on Na/H exchanger activity in the platelets of young (8-10 week old) male rats of disease-resistant DA, Syndrome X susceptible WOK. 1W, nondiabetic BBOK, and congenic BBLL strains. There were done conclusions: the main difference in the metabolic state of WOK. 1W rats was their hyperinsulinemia. The authors therefore assume that hyperinsulinemia is a key factor for the up-regulation of the Na/H exchanger in the genesis of the metabolic syndrome of young WOK. 1W rats.
