The 2022 excavation to a depth of 1.9–2 m (Habs –0.00–+0.15 m) in triangular Area 4 (66.5 m 2 ) at Žvejų St. 2B, Klaipeda (Fig. 1) revealed, in order under the fill layers: blackish peaty sandy loam with organic and archaeological finds, the late 17th –18th -century cultural layer that had formed beside present-day Žvejų Street and the swampy riverbank; at a depth of 1.1–1.65 m, dark grey sand mixed with sapropel and isolated red clay brick pieces that had been deposited on the riverbank; and from a depth of 1.6–1.95 m only natural geological layers. The remains of a first half of the 16th -century Dangė river quay: rows of stakes and piles as well as a wooden plank and pile structure, i.e., a revetment, were exposed at a depth of 1.25–1.95 m from the present-day surface (Habs +0.10–+0.84 m) (Fig. 2). The investigation yielded 16th –20th -century finds: sherds of household pottery and one stove tile, metal buttons, and Sigismund I the Old (1506–1548) coins.
