Abstract (en)
The article deals with the prevalence of arterial hypertension (AH) and association with behavioral risk factors among Lithuanian seamen; the research was done in March-August 2003. The random samples of Lithuanian seamen aged 19-69 years involving 1135 persons. Conclusion: the prevalence of AH was determined in 44,9 % from all seamen. Smoking was revealed in 54,4 % of seamen and the rate of AH increased with increasing of number of smoked cigarettes, smoking experience and frequency of alcohol consumption.
