New perspective methodology of multifractal parametrization is applied to investigate the relationship between material properties and their structure. It is determined that evolution of dislocation structure in low-carbon steel specimens at both monotonic tension and cyclic deformation is similar and plastic deformation process at both loading modes in the metal surface layer is analogous.
