Abstract (en)
The authors analyzed the nurses' attitudes to the competencies of nurses and social workers. Quantitative research, used anonymity questionnaire, was done. A cluster sample of 51 general practice nurses and community nurses working at Šilale region was selected. Reseach results showed that 80 % nurses have secondary medical school degree. Nurses have a notion, that values and skills are important in their work. However younger nurses and nurses have higher education more interest in nursing innovations, more competent, more professional than older nurses with lower education level. Nurses think that ethical, esthetical, empirical, individual knowledge is necessary part of their work.
