The article deals with the training of forthcoming primary teachers in Klaipeda University to gain their experience in natural sciences. Listeners of the educological course of bachelor and postgraduate studies studied 5-6 compulsory subjects of natural sciences in 2000-2006 in Klaipeda University. Al the students studied such subjects as "Ecology" and "Training of world familiarity"( in 2002-2004; 2004-2006). Graduate students frequently didn't gain enough competence of natural sciences. The involvement of students as competent, active and constructive partners in the establishment and shaping of a higher education area is needed and welcomed. Students should participate in and influence the organisation and content of education at universities and other higher education institutions.
