The study consists of six chapters. The first chapter starts with a discussion of theoretical assumptions and models which describe the transition to adulthood. Research methodology and empirical data are presented in the second chapter. The third chapter provides an overview of the structure of the transitional calendar to adulthood and its changes over the second part of the 20t h and the first decade of the 21s t centuries in Lithuania. Transitional timetables and their peculiarities within various male and female birth cohorts are explored in the next chapter. The fifth chapter displays normative models of the transition and the effect of destandardization. The conclusion to the study pictures the variety of paths taken in transitioning to adulthood.
