The abstract deals with the initial model for the Curonian Lagoon ecosystem. The model is based on a 2D finite element hydrodynamic-ecological model code called SHYFEM. The model simulates nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon cycles as well as dissolved oxygen, phytoplankton and zooplankton.
