Abstract (en)
In 2006–2007 the KPIP surveyed the site of the planned 65 km long Šakiai–Tauragė gas main route (West Lithuania, Šakiai, Jurbarkas, and Tauragė Dists.). Isolated Stone Age flint artefacts were discovered in the villages of Paspirgėliai, Ritiniai, Mozūriškiai, Palankinė – Papiškiai (all in Šakiai Dist.), Bandzinai II, Globiai (both in Jurbarkas Dist.) and Kiukiškiai (Tauragė Dist.), 19th–20th village sites in the villages of Paspirgėliai, Globiai, and Kiukiškiai, and a 17th–18th old cemetery in the village of Baltrušaiėiai (Tauragė Dist.). No archaeological heritage that should be preserved was discovered at the site of the gas main route.
