Abstract (en)
At the order of AM, 1 test pit (4 m2 ) was excavated in 2007 on the plot at Vilniaus st. 21 in the central part of Anykščiai old town (fig. 1). In it was found a 1.15 m thick cultural layer, which contained the remains of a stone foundation and a pit filled with unglazed stove tile fragments and had mostly been formed in the late 19 th –20 th centuries. Individual pottery fragments discovered in the test pit can be dated to the 18 th century but the nature of the cultural layer from that period shows that gardens had existed at the site.
