Abstract (en)
In 2006 KU conducted evaluations in 8 Klaipėda Old Town locations. An undisturbed 18th–19th century cultural layer was discovered at a depth of from 45–50 cm to 1 m below the current surface of the ground under the pavement of Daržų St. The corner of Klaipėda castle’s N ravelin, which was built of stone in the 2nd half of the 17th–18th century, was discovered at Žvejų St. 8 and 8A. A 1.6 m high 6x9 m basement dating to the 1st half of the 19th century was unearthed at Žvejų St. 24. 19th or even 20th century (Smiltynės St. 17) cultural layers were encountered at other locations.
