Abstract (en)
The genetic diversity of Atlantic salmon from Lithuania was assessed using five micro satellite markers. The levels of heterozygosity and the average number of allelles per locus were estimated in farmed (67 percent and 8,4 respectively) and wild (78 percent and 6 respectively) populations.Farmed salmon showed less genetic variability than wild salmon in terms of overall heterozygosity, but not in terms of allelic diversity.
