At present there is no clear understanding of the character of plastic deformation process in microareas of a polycrystalline alloy. The task of our work was to propose a quick-acting inductive measurement method for the testing of characteristics of the modified surface layer of ferromagnetic materials and analyze them by inductive method and by investigation of dislocation structure. The carried out experimental research confirms the potential of the application of the inductive method for the quick-acting and non-destructive control of surface layer characteristics of ferromagnetic materials. The analysis of the obtained experimental data shows the peculiarity of micro-plastic fiow near afree surface of a solid body and its rather significanl influence on the general character and kinetics of macroscopic deformation of metals.
