Abstract (en)
In this article the data of mechanical properties of carbon steel after ion implantation are presented. It has been established that the implantation of nitrogen ions at the energy of 5 keV with doses 1 × 1018 to 1 × 1019 N+ cm-2 can improve mechanical properties of steel. The efficiency of implantation of nitrogen ions depends on the treatment of technological parameters. In order to obtain the maximum microhardness of implanted surface (measured using Vickers method) the optimum implantation dose 4.6 × 1018 N+ cm-2 was used.
